Booking Policies

Waiver Form Policy:
To skate with one of Skatewell's instructors, a waiver form is necessary. Please note, if the form has not been received, we have a "no waiver, no skate" policy. Participants under the age of 18 must have a waiver form signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Refund Policy:
We are a small business that relies on maximum class numbers to sustain our business long-term. Therefore, we do not offer refunds on any bookings or purchases, including gift vouchers and class packages. Please book carefully. Our no-refund policy ensures stability and enables us to continue providing quality services.

Term Bookings:
Refunds, cancellations, or rescheduling are not permitted for Term Bookings. However, in cases of adverse weather conditions or serious illness, a make up session will be provided.

Class Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy:
If you need to cancel your class, please note that rescheduling is not possible, and the full amount paid for the class will be forfeited. In the event of unforeseen emergencies such as illness or injury, we may offer a credit or makeup session upon presentation of a medical certificate. However, please be aware that booking reserves a spot unavailable to others, so we cannot offer credit for changes of mind.

Private Lesson Rescheduling Policy:
If you need to reschedule your private lesson, our coaches require at least 48 hours' notice. Please contact your coach directly using the contact details provided in your original confirmation email. If notice is not provided, you will forfeit the full amount paid for the lesson. In a true unavoidable emergency, such as illness or injury, your coach may consider rescheduling and making other arrangements at their discretion.

No Show:
Failure to attend a booked class or private lesson will result in forfeiting the full amount paid.

Health and Wellness Policy and Procedure:

At Skatewell, we prioritise the health and well-being of our community. Therefore, in cases where a participant displays symptoms of a contagious illness, they may be respectfully asked to leave the session. This measure is implemented to safeguard the health of all participants and staff members.

Arrival Policy:
To ensure a productive and safe lesson, we kindly request that all students arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their scheduled lesson to allow time for check-in and to put on any protective gear. Late arrivals may result in a shortened class/lesson or cancellation without refund.

Full Attendance Policy:
We understand that unexpected circumstances can arise, making it difficult for students to complete the session in full. In such cases, we will make every effort to accommodate the student's needs within the allotted time. However, if a student is unable to attend the full lesson/class, a refund or credit will not be issued.

Class Suitability:
We provide classes for different skill levels to ensure that all participants learn at their appropriate level. While we do our best to accommodate everyone's needs, in group classes, we focus on the skill level of the majority. If you have specific needs or concerns, please let us know when booking, so we can provide you with the best learning experience. When booking, please consider if the class setting is suitable for you. If you're unsure which class to choose, please contact us, and we'll be happy to assist you.

Parental Supervision:
Participants under the age of 12 must not be left unattended during the session. For the All Ages No Experience classes, if you are booking for a participant under 5 years of age or a participant who needs extra support, we require the parent or guardian to accompany the participant during the entire duration of that class.

Class Minimum Numbers:
We strive to provide quality coaching to all our students. In the event that a class is under-booked or under-staffed, we may need to reschedule or cancel the class. For cancelled classes, a credit will be issued.

Weather Policy:
To ensure a safe learning environment, we will proceed with services after wet weather only if the ground is completely dry and free of moisture. If this condition is not met, we will contact you to reschedule your lesson or class. Additionally, if the predicted temperature for the session time exceeds 34 degrees Celsius, the session will be cancelled for safety reasons. Skatewell reserves the right to reschedule lessons at our discretion. We will notify you via text message at least half an hour before the lesson if we need to reschedule. If you need to travel for more than 30 minutes, please feel free to contact us if you have any concerns about the weather.

Make Up Sessions:
In alignment with our Weather Policy, Skatewell offers Make-Up Sessions for all services cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. Make-up sessions are scheduled at our discretion, typically on Saturdays or during school holidays, and students are notified promptly of any changes. Please note that make-up session dates and times are determined by our school and may differ from regular lesson schedules. Students are expected to attend the arranged make-up session, as no credit or refund will be issued for missed sessions. In cases where make-up sessions cannot be offered by Skatewell, credits will be applied to the client's account.

Private Lesson make-up sessions are at the coach's discretion.

Behaviour:
At Skatewell, we prioritise safety, respect, and a positive learning environment for all participants. To ensure everyone's enjoyment and progress, we have established the following behaviour policy. By attending our classes, you agree to abide by these guidelines:

Respect Others:

Treat all participants, instructors, and staff with respect, courtesy, and inclusiveness. Avoid any form of bullying, harassment, or disrespectful behaviour, including derogatory language, teasing, name-calling, or physical aggression.

Parent/Guardian Responsibilities:

Parents or guardians are responsible for the behaviour and actions of their children attending the skateboard classes. Ensure that the participant understands and follows the behaviour policy. Breach of the behaviour policy after two attempts of guidance will lead to temporary removal from the class and a constructive conversation with a parent/guardian. Continued breaches despite corrective efforts may result in permanent expulsion from Skatewell Skateboard Coaching. Our instructors and staff are committed to upholding this policy to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants.

Photography and Filming:
Throughout programs and sessions, filming and photography may occur for business and marketing purposes. Please advise if you do not wish for this to happen. We respect your privacy and will accommodate your preferences regarding photography and filming. Please notify us if you prefer not to be photographed or filmed during our programs and lessons.
